If you’re going to be street racing, get a hearse. Cadillacs are best, but then the Oldmobiles and Pontiacs have a sort of “weird factor” going for it.
To be honest none of those cars are fast, you could get older muscle cars but they would only be slightly faster and corner at the speed of smell.
The easiest thing would be to get the civic and just reduce its weight.

… which one has the worst safety features? Definitely go for that one.
Honda Civic, Mazda MX-6 or a Nissan 240SX. Even a Dodge Neon has cheap cool upgrades. You want a car you can do something with on the cheap and get good performance from.
They all have potential if you have the money.
But I think power train options would be greatest on the Civic. I think Honda builds some killer engines that would fit under the hood.
NoNe… get a subaru impreza!!!!!!!!!! You wont regret it believe me! Tons of upgrades and mods available. Very reliable enjines & transmissions. And QUICK!!
