What Is The Best Octane Level To Use While Racing My Stock Car?

My car is a 6cyl front wheel drive 2 door 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix no modifications. I am going to be racing it on the Kalamazoo speedway circle track and I was wondering if I could run higher octane than 87 and what level would be best for performance and power but not abuse the engine to badly? Also I am not allowed to use Anti-Freeze only water so over heating is also a factor.

that engine was built to run on 87 octane and if it’s stock thats what you need to run.

unless your advancing the timing you wont need to run higher octane gas. itll just cause you to put out more emissions. if your concerned about overheating, put this stuff made by redline, its called water wetter, all the high performance cars run it, its basically a pink bottle of this stuff that raises the surface tension of the water which lowers the temperature by up to 20 degrees. its good stuff.

I got a V6 mustang and I filled up on 92 octane then I added Prestone Octane boost with 10 points (Borderline Street Legal) and that put me at 93 octane and my car seemed ok.
If you want 60 points to put your octane level up 6 but its illegal as hell on the street, buy some of this stuff called NO2 at checkers. Looks like the energy drink but it’s the real deal, but that would probably mess your car up..

use the highest octane available to you it will help the engine by burning better and increasing combustion efficiency hence more power it should not have an effect on over heating even with water

Regular fuel – anything else is a waste of money because you’ll gain nothing from a higher octane on a stock engine designed for regular.
