The Cars Info

I am wondering whether to use a 125cc scooter for commuting 8 miles each way, mainly on a 50mph road with an incline, and on a national speed limit dual carriageway for around quarter of a mile.
Would a 125cc motorcycle be suited for this? I also live in quite a hilly area, but all the hills are 30mph limits – would a scooter be able to handle this?
Also, would using this sort of scooter use up a lot of fuel?
