Im 18, and i have a job and the money to make payments on a motorcycle. The thing is, i dont have any credit and i need my parents to co sign on it. They think that if they sign the paper, they might as well be signing my life away. They dont get that ive always wanted a motorcycle and begged them since i was 15. What are a few good ways to convince them to sign?

Sign up for a motorcycle safety course first. (Use a friend’s bike)
They might feel better about it if you were to show them that you take safety seriously.
If I were your parent, I would react the same way. You don’t NEED a motorcycle. You WANT one. You can wait until you have developed sufficient credit to obtain the motorcycle on your own.
I have two adult kids, and neither of them ever ASKED me to cosign for anything for them. They did without until they could afford it on their own.
cosigning is a bad idea, even for family. if you care about them, don’t ask them to do it.
Are your parents concerned about the idea of co-signing or co-signing for a motor cycle rather than a car. Since they are doing you a favor you are stuck with their decision until you have enough money and credit to buy something on your own. Perhaps you can talk them into co-signing for a car and then after you pay on it regularly for a year you will have good enough credit to turn it in on a motor cycle that you dont need a co-signer on.
