How Can I Prepare For The Skills Portion Of The Motorcycle Exam?

I just got the free book, and I plan on taking the written test soon, to get my Motorcycles learner permit. But, how do I prepare for the actual skills test. Any suggestions? I just rode a motorcycle for the fist time a couple of days ago, any suggestions on getting better at riding?

Where do you live? You can take a short course, you will learn A LOT and meet new friends that you can ride with later on.
Right now though, the closest think you have to use right now is a push bike, i recommend practicing going around corners, round abouts etc at faster-than-normal push bike speeds to start to get a feel.
remember that when you turn, its with your shoulder, leaning into the corner, not by turning the handle bars. And be easy on the throttle- you dont want to be doing any power wheelies on test day!
When performing low speed maneuvers, feather the back break, but dont use breaks whilst in a corner! you’ll drop the bike.
also, if you have any friends that can take you on the back of their bike, you can feel when they gear up/down, (you know how drive manual right?) you can learn what it feels like to go round the corner and look over your shoulder as you’re turning, not at the road. feel the amount of pressure they apply on the brakes for a smooth stop etc.
remember, you’re getting your Ls… not your licence, so your learning will start then!
Dont stress and enjoy the wonderful world of motorbikes.
    ~ninja all the way ^.^

Most cities have motorcycle classes where they teach you everything you have to know about riding a motorcycle and some will even give you the test at the end of the training to get your license. The trainings here cost around $150 – $300 depending on if you have your own motorcycle or not. I would highly recommend going this route if you can find a local training. Here they usually do it in one weekend. Good luck!
